Perth’s Shout Out program giving young migrants, refugees a voice in the community

“There are a lot of negative ideas attached to being a refugee,” she said.

“It doesn’t mean that they don’t come from good families, it doesn’t mean that they don’t know about the world, it doesn’t mean they aren’t educated.

“Once accepting those people to be part of your community … you want those people to reach their full potential. One way to do that is listening to what they have to say.”
